Mr. Tetsuo Gidou, a traditional craftsman of Aizu lacquer, produced the lacquer dial with great care. Lacquer called "JAPAN" in English is literally the skill of craftsmanship that Japan boasts to the world. It takes 20 years for lacquer to be harvested, and only a small amount can be harvested from a single tree once. Without wasting a drop of it, craftsmen sublimate it into art.
