A new Navitimer. I really want to go see it, but I don't know how it's changed! I would like to compare the new and old of the NEW Navitimer today in response to such voices. I will explain while interweaving the shots of the actual machine instead of the image image.





First of all, please start with a comparison image of the old and new Navitimer.




It looks like a Navitimer. A pilot's watch equipped with a rotating slide rule that allows calculations such as proportional calculations necessary for pilot flight by turning the bezel on the outer circumference of the watch. There should be many people who recognize Breitling at a glance as there is only a model representing Breitling.

After all, you may be interested in the logo part that symbolizes the brand on the dial of the watch.
Let's take a look at the differences between the logos so far.



[Wing Logo]
Ever wings logo. The image of Breitling is this logo because it has been produced with the wing logo for the past few decades! Isn't there a lot of people who are in the middle of the day?



[B logo]
Breitling's classical logo used until the previous work. It is a logo with only " B " before the wing is used, and it is a logo that still exists today and is also used in the current Chronomat, Premiere, Super Ocean Heritage, etc.



[AOPA Wing]
And this logo. [AOPA (International Owner-Pilot Association)] Said to be a logo, it was used in the Navitimer REF.806 1959 Re-Edition. It has been reborn as a logo suitable for the 70th anniversary of Navitimer.



Tachymeter abolished

From this time, the meter that measures the average speed of 1,000m (1km) called the tachymeter has come off.
The yellow part in the image below is the tachymeter part . Starting the stopwatch from the starting point and stopping at the point of 1 km, the average speed was to be known.



By removing the tachymeter, the rotary slide rule is easier to see. Some people may feel that the design has a clean impression.



Glass surface changed to dome shape


Until now, the glass that covers the dial of the Navitimer has not been flat, but it has used a sapphire crystal that does not bulge that much.



This NEW Navitimer has a dome-shaped sapphire crystal that was used in the old Navitimer. As you can see by looking at it from the side, it is often used in classics, and it has changed to the dome-shaped specification that was used in Navitimers in the 1960s and 1970s.





Flat inner bezel.

As you can see in the yellow part of the image below, the inner bezel of the Navitimer has been slanted like a mortar. It changes to a flat shape from this model.



The other day, at the Breitling Boutique Takamatsu, we exhibited an antique model from the archive. We exhibited the model made in 1959 at that time, not a reprint of the 1959 re-edition.

The discoloration due to aging is likely to attract attention, but the inner bezel of the Navitimer at that time was flat . If you look at the 1959 Navitimer, you can easily see the warping of the old Navitimer.

Based on that, what do you think of the new Navitimer? Combined with the dome-shaped glass mentioned earlier, the 1959-like flat part creates a more antique atmosphere. You can see this difference while the old model is on display, so please take a look.



No buckle option for leather model

Until now, when choosing a leather strap model , it was possible to choose between a buckle type or a buckle type .



Please note that from this time on, if you choose a strap , only the buckle type will be available .



The difference between the clasp part of the bracelet and the finish

I introduced this a little when I introduced the new Navitimer last time, but the bracelet has changed a lot. Until now, the clasp part of the bracelet was opened on one side and put it on from the top to lock it, but from this specification it will be opened on both sides . Good news for those who have had difficulty removing the buckle with their fingertips. Easy to open on both sides with the push of a button.





The surface finish of the bracelet part has also changed, changing from a polished finish to a combination of satin and polish. By spending time and effort, it has been further sublimated to a high-quality appearance.

Was it good? There are still some parts that I haven't been able to tell you yet, but I was able to introduce mainly the appearance of the design. By the way , there is no change in the movement of the old and new Navitimer this time.
