Breguet type XXI 3810 (part number 3810ST/92/SZ9) has arrived.
Type XXI, Breguet's finest pilot's watch.
・The venerable pilot's watch called by a code number
・Watches from the five major brands that can still be purchased for around 1 million yen
・ Easy to match with clothes regardless of bracelet or strap
Well, there are many things to mention, but the reason why there is no more reason is that it is "cool anyway".
Breguet has consistently used this code number, which dates back to the early 20th century.
With great interest in the new realm of the sky, Breguet developed special aviation equipment such as the "Type XI" and "Type XII", and its first military aviation customer was the United States Air Force (1918).
The model that became the ancestor of the wristwatch "Type XX" is a chronograph wristwatch made in 1935.
The chronograph, which was produced in very small quantities, received rave reviews from the French government's technical department, and the Aviation Testing Institute commissioned a chronograph for pilots of the Naval Air Corps.
Its name is the code number "Type XX".
The image below shows the successive Type XXs side by side.
①②③④ are type XX.
⑤ is type XXI.
In 1954, officially commissioned by the French government, Breguet supplied 500 of these chronographs to the French Air Force, the Test Flight Center and the Naval Air Force.
The Type XX, which was only available to military personnel, quickly became the envy of people from all walks of life, and Breguet began to consider producing chronographs for civilian use.
Since then, "Type XX" has continued to be made until today, and this time we will introduce "Type XXI", which is the fifth generation.
As you can see, it's classy, with great design and elegant details.
The index is a large Arabic numeral. The typeface looks like a sans serif, but it is actually a serif.
The pyramid-shaped marker between the minute scale is a sparkling accent.
The short hand is thick enough to touch the indexes, while the long hand is long enough to reach the outer circumference, which is why it is a pilot's watch.
It's good that this venerable Breguet chronograph can still be purchased for around 1 million yen, and it's an exceptional price compared to other chronographs produced by the so-called five major brands.
The color of the dial is dark brown with a unique coloring.
It is easy to understand by comparing the right and left images, but when the light hits it, it looks dark brown, and when it is slightly shadowed, it looks black.
It doesn't look like slate gray, but it's dark brown.
The dial color in the product catalog is light brown, but it is actually dark brown.
The movement is Caliber.584Q.
Since it is made by Nouvelle Mania, it is an in-house movement.
And a flyback chronograph. This is no ordinary chronograph.
Because it has military roots, it has this movement and function.
Anyway, Type XX was discontinued a few years ago, and Type XXII, which was a big brother, was also discontinued.
Since the titanium case type XXI has also been discontinued, I wonder how long this stainless steel model type XXI will continue to be produced.
Type XXI is the only Breguet men's watch with a stainless steel case.
