I think it's too late to review the Breguet Marine II.



This Marine II part number 5817ST/92/5V8 was discontinued last year.

There is a good point about watches that you can understand when they are gone.

I don't think there's any more stock, so this is the latest review in Japan.

The snake-like dial looks like a marine, and the large date display called the big date or grand date has a nice atmosphere.





I realized while writing that Marine is actually a step bezel.

The case is thin at 11.82mm.
Thanks to the coin edge on the side of the case, which is unique to Breguet, the step bezel makes it look thin.

In addition, the rubber strap with a series of pyramids has a luxurious feel, and you can see the foresight that incorporates the Clou de Paris pattern that will become popular later.





The large crown makes it easy to wind.
The corrugated crown guard next to it is a distinctive design that is rarely seen in other manufacturers.

And slender linear lugs.
The long lugs make it comfortable to wear.





The movement is cal.517GG, which is an improved version of Frederic Piguet's cal.1150.
It's the same name as the Blancpain Leman. Cal.510DR is a hand-wound version of this.

This model has a silicon Breguet balance on a free sprung balance, but the previous model has a smooth balance, so you can tell immediately by looking at it.

The buckle is characteristic, and this is Breguet Marine.
It's cool.

Actually, it sold out while I was writing this.



Well, I can't say where this luxury sports watch is, but the Swiss system is strong.
Under such circumstances, I really recommend this watch, which has a unique charm that Swiss watches can never have, such as Frenchness or elegance represented by this Breguet Marine. German watches are fine too.
