In 2020, Super Ocean Heritage '57 was announced as a capsule collection (limited production) . The Superocean Heritage '57 Outerknown is a tribute to the original 1957 Superocean and the cool, carefree surfer lifestyle of the 1960s.

Co-designed with Kelly Slater's surfwear brand, Outerknown, it features a NATO strap made from a special ECONYL® yarn made from nylon waste such as fishing nets salvaged from the ocean .

Why is Breitling making straps made from recycled nylon?

Since 2018, Breitling has focused not only on watchmaking, but also on global ocean conservation activities as one of its social responsibilities.
This model was born in collaboration with "Outerknown" as a partnership in that activity.

Outerknown is an apparel brand co-founded by surfing legend and Breitling Surfers Squad member Kelly Slater.

Unlike products that are manufactured from raw material resources, turning waste cleanly into raw material resources and manufacturing them from there is not only costly, but also takes a lot of time and effort.

If you ever get your hands on this ECONYL® yarn NATO strap, it might be a resource that was dormant in the sea somewhere in the world.

The base is the Superocean Heritage 57. The case diameter is 42mm and the water resistance is 100m, which is slightly weaker than the 200m water resistance of the regular Super Ocean Heritage model, but it is thinner for that reason, making it much easier to use on a daily basis.

The thinness stands out from the side.

The bezel is 18K red gold and goes well with the brown dial. It combines luxury and the sportiness of a diver's watch. There is also a model with a stainless steel bezel, but this 18K bezel model is limited to 500 pieces.

It's a mature production with a special model nylon strap.

Since it is a NATO type, no tools are required for replacement.
Even if you carry a spare belt, you can replace it immediately.

It can be easily removed by pulling the belt in the direction of the arrow.

Another big feature is that the bezel of the 1957 first-generation Superocean is designed in a mortar shape from the outside to the inside.

This specification also has the effect of preventing direct impacts and scratches on the glass , and the design and functionality are also improved.
The back cover is also engraved with the “Outerknown” logo, giving you a special feeling when you take it off your wrist.

The Superocean Heritage '57 Outerknown Limited Edition introduced this time is a limited edition of 500 pieces, so it will be very difficult to obtain when it is sold out. However, the Superocean Heritage '57, which is the base, will also be discontinued for a limited time.
